Έρχεται παράλληλα με τη συνεχιζόμενη ένταση στη Συρία τις τελευταίες ημέρες μεταξύ της νέας συριακής κυβέρνησης και ομάδων Σύριων Δρούζων, και τις απειλές της κυβέρνησης Νετανιάχου κατά της κυβέρνησης του Σύρου προέδρου Αχμάντ αλ-Σαράα.
